120 Simple Ways to Reduce Stress in Your Life

1. Learn Meditation –

Meditation is a practice that is used to relax the mind and shut out any problems. By doing meditation for 15 minutes every day, it can have a massive impact on your life. The benefits of meditation are that it:

– Enables Longer Living

– Reduces Ageing

– Helps You Become More Present

– Helps You Sleep Better

– Helps You Handle problems

2. Take Some Time For Yourself & Become Quiet

Switch off the TV, your cell phone, the computer; information overload can cause stress. Appreciating silence can help you to feel more relaxed and peaceful. Not many people do this and they get so caught up making a living instead of designing the life they want to live. It’s hard to do because we think we are wasting time but it’s so important for your health to do so.

3. Pursue Your Passion

Put work into something that you care about achieving. Always follow what you want to do in life or you feel more stressed because you’re not doing what you love. So many people in this world let life go by without doing what they really wanted to. Passion is what wakes people up in the morning and gives them energy throughout the day. If you are waking up every morning doing what you love, your enjoyment for life will increase. Read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your pharmacist before you start taking this medicine. If you have any questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist. This medication may also be used to prevent the flu if you have been exposed to someone who already has the flu (such as a sick household member) or if there is a flu outbreak in the community. Talk to your doctor and buy tamiflu. Take this medication by mouth with or without food. You may take it with food or milk to minimize stomach upset. Take this medication as soon as flu symptoms appear or as soon as possible after you have been exposed to the flu. Oseltamivir works best if you start taking it within 2 days of either of these events.

4. Take A Bath

Take a nice warm bath one hour before you go to bed. This will help you relax and shut out all the problems of the day. You can dim the light to make the atmosphere more soothing. When you get into a warm bath you allow yourself to lay down and fully relax.

5. Laughing

Laughing is the cure for all pain. Isn’t it funny that some people can actually go through months without laughing and others can experience laughter every day of their life. Most people tell me they wish they could laugh more. I always tell them, ‘you just need to let go of your problems and become free.’ When was the last time you laughed so hard that your stomach started to hurt? This can actually cure people from pain and make them live longer. If you have major stress in your life I can guarantee you’re not laughing regularly.

I have a ritual that I do every night before I go to bed. I always give myself 30 minutes to an hour of watching something on YouTube that makes me just let go and laugh. What are the types of things that make you laugh because believe it or not, laughing is like a muscle. If you don’t use it, you lose it. Endorphins shoot through your body when you laugh and you instantly feel good. If you can start laughing at your problems your mind makes a shift. Some of the benefits of laughing are that it:

– Decreases Stress

– Helps you sleep better

– Improves Breathing

– Is A Natural Pain Killer

– Helps You Lose Weight

– Reduces Heart Disease

– Makes You Look Younger

– Improves Blood Circulation

– Strengthens Your Immune System

These are just some of the benefits of laughing. What if you could change your mindset every time you feel stressed and ask yourself, ‘what’s funny about this?’ I believe if you ask yourself that question it opens your mind up to new possibilities. This is a game changer. Start making yourself laugh just like when you were a kid. A kid laughs at anything and everything because he knows life is beautiful. This will help you decrease your anxiety massively.

6. Get A Massage

Massage is good for your body and soul. Studies show that experiencing touch from another person is healing in itself. A massage helps you unwind, release physical tension and let go of emotional stress. Everyone talks about how much a massage would be good for them but they never take action to get it done. This will help reenergise you.

7. Exercise

The most important key everyone needs to start doing is exercising every day. Exercising affects the brain on multiple fronts. It increases heart rate, which pumps more oxygen to the brain. It also aids the bodily release of a plethora of hormones, all of which participate in aiding and providing a nourishing environment for the growth of brain cells. It releases endorphins, which is our own form of morphine that gets produced by the central nervous system. Exercising everyday will reduce your stress levels and keep you naturally happy. I put this first because I believe most people that have severe cases of anxiety don’t put time into this area and it’s detrimental to their health & wellbeing.

8. Nutrition/Diet

Another reason why people are very anxious is because they don’t have the right diet that’s supporting them. Changing someone’s nutrition can change a person’s life. Food can actually be one of the root causes to people feeling depressed and being highly reactive to stress. Most people’s diets consist of eating highly acidic foods which can cause fat cells, severe anxiety, acne, loss of sleep etc. Here are some foods that are acidic:

Fried Food

Fried foods are difficult to digest, have little nutritional content and contribute to heart struggles. It’s very difficult to reduce your anxiety if your body is poorly processing the food you consume.

Alcohol

Set aside the fact that drinking alcohol can cause you to do crazy things that create more anxiety in your life, alcohol itself is terrible for your body. It dehydrates you, it throws off your hormone and nutritional balance, and it can cause physical symptoms from the toxins that trigger anxiety attacks.

Coffee

Excess coffee is a known anxiety stimulant. In moderation (i.e. once a day in the morning), it may not trigger anxiety in most people, but the more you drink the more you increase your risk. Coffee also creates a rapid heartbeat and some sensations that may create panic attacks.

Dairy Products

Dairy products aren’t inherently bad for you, but in excess they may heighten your adrenaline levels and contribute to a more anxious state. Moderation is the key here, and if you find after consuming dairy products you feel more anxious, cut back.

Refined Sugars

Sugar in fruit isn’t too bad. White sugar in desserts is. Sugar, like caffeine, stimulates your body in a way that can create a jitteriness that exacerbates anxiety symptoms.

Acid Forming Foods

Foods like yogurt, pickles, eggs, sour cream, wine, and liver are all acid creating foods, and there are reasons to believe that these foods drop magnesium levels. Magnesium is a cause or contributor of anxiety in many of those suffering from anxiety symptoms, so cutting back on acid forming foods is important.

Taking a look at these foods it will give you a general idea that if you are eating these on a regular basis they will be giving you some slim side effects and a simple shift will reduce your mood massively. There are foods that will reduce your anxiety which will cleanse your system while also alkalizing it. These are the foods that will give you natural energy and reduce you anxiety significantly:

Fresh Fruit

Your body does need carbs and sugar, it just doesn’t need refined sugars. Fresh fruit has sugar that can be converted to energy, and provides necessary nutrients as well. Blueberries and peaches may be especially advantageous.

Vegetables

Of course, vegetables are arguably even more important, especially for those with anxiety. Vegetables are rich in fibre, and many of the vitamins that those with anxiety deplete regularly.

Water

A tremendous percentage of the population is regularly dehydrated because they do not drink nearly enough water. Dehydration nearly always leads to anxiety, which is why it’s crucial that you consume enough water regularly.

Tryptophan Rich Foods

Foods rich in tryptophan are very effective at reducing anxiety. They have a natural relaxation component, and may increase your metabolism as an added bonus. Oats, soy, poultry, and sesame seeds all have a fair amount of tryptophan.

Magnesium-Rich Foods

As much as 25% of the country or more is magnesium deficient, and magnesium plays a role in over 300 different processes within the body. It’s a crucial mineral that few people get, so magnesium-rich foods like black beans and tofu are very important.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Research into Omega-3’s is still being conducted, but there is some evidence that Omega-3 is important to prevent depression and anxiety. Omega-3’s can be found in fish, flax seed, and winter squash.

Nutrition is the fuel that will either give you life or take it away. If you change your diet around, your energy will explode. I want you to experiment with making little changes to your diet because one change a day will change your life within a year.

I have a good friend who was in the military for years and he had to get discharged because of a traumatic experience that happened overseas. A lot of troops have this same problem and it’s because they see things that are so scary and feel unrealistic that they just keep playing those movies in their head. If you saw knew how to groom a yorkshire terrier or have teacup pigs, it would be locked in your mind for a long time because we remember significant emotional experiences. But this particular man has no purpose in life and has told me that he really has no point in living. When a man’s purpose is taken away, he feels like nothing and the future seems very dim. I have talked to him many times about what he’d like pursue and he just doesn’t have a response to it. He’s addicted to staying in that place.

I know many people who don’t have a purpose for their life and most of them are indulging their spare time in negative emotions. When someone is on their purpose and breaking through all barriers that are in their way, they don’t have time to sit around and feel sorry for themselves. If you just sat at home and played video games for weeks on end, you don’t have a purpose that wakes you up so you’ll feel unfulfilled. Having a purpose is the most important thing you need in order to have a great life. There is no better feeling then waking up and knowing what you do makes a difference to people’s live, so that’s what I want you to find.

If you already have a job that you like and it feels purposeful, make that your purpose. It doesn’t matter how big or small it is but it needs to make you feel like you’re on this Earth for a reason. I know someone personally whose purpose is to make other people happy throughout the day. He is a 55 year old lifeguard at a pool and he told me nothing gives him more of a thrill than acting like a clown to get other people to laugh. He realized by doing something silly, it gets people to put a smile on their face and the person can stop focusing on themselves for a minute and feel good. I believe that’s such a cool purpose and that’s why I love hanging around him because he is always smiling and just loving life. People ask him all the time why he is always so happy. The answer is always because he’s living another day of life, and lots of people can’t comprehend what that means.

It’s the same with Jim Carrey the famous actor. He quotes, “I realized that the purpose of my life was to free people from concern through my comedy. I did something that made people present their best selves to me wherever I go.” It is such a powerful quote because having a purpose that gets others out of their pain is so touching to me and is what drives me to help people through my speaking and seminars. I want people to be a little crazy, fun and excited about life because if you’re not, you’re worrying about things you shouldn’t be. Ask yourself: ‘Do I have a purpose?’ If you have been doing something that you are driven to do, make that your purpose, stick to it and make it bigger and better. If you don’t feel like you have a purpose I know exactly the fear you experience on a regular basis.

It’s time for you to stop feeling sorry for yourself and not seeing a bright future ahead of you. Really start thinking of what can you do every day that would make you happy. The man that is depressed from the army could have a purpose to break out and live a happier life and inspire other troops to do the same. Not wanting to do this means that he doesn’t want to get help himself, because he’s not ready. He’s got to want to do it and overcome barriers, but it’s safer just to live the same mundane life every day. Find out your purpose and I promise you if you find it, a lot of the stress in your life will become changed because what you are worrying about today is a low vibrational problem. By having purpose that will serve you long-term, this will give you a bigger and better problem with a higher vibrational frequency and what you’ll get from that is a new state of mind and the new person who you become.

9. Read Self-Help Positive Books

Read books that feed your mind positivity. Always read something positive everyday so you can start training your mind to believe in yourself. Books containing positive affirmations, daily meditations or uplifting stories will help you to feel better and restore your belief that life can be good.

11. Let Out The Pain

If you are feeling stressed about something you don’t need to hold it in. It’s normal to let go and cry every once in a while because crying is the cleanser of the soul; it’s healthy. By letting out what you’re feeling it can actually make you feel clear about finding a solution. After pain there is always a new opportunity. The night is not forever, only your soul is.

12. Stop Watching The News

The majority of the news is negative and conditions us to believe that the world is a bad place. If you look around and realize that the world is actually beautiful and start feeding positivity into yourself, you will become a lot happier. Try doing things for yourself instead of watching the news.

13. Play With Your Pet

Studies suggest if you spend 10minutes with your pet you feel happier because you are giving unconditional love and connection to each other.

14. Make Your Home Your Sanctuary

It is very important that you are coming home to place that represents you in the best way. Find things that you love and put it all through your house. Special pictures, paintings, a pool table; whatever makes you happy. We always say one day we’ll get a new garden or one day I’ll have those cushions. Get them today because once you have them it will give you the feeling you’re craving.

15. Be Grateful

Living with an attitude of gratitude will change your life. This was the real cure to all of my problems. We can always look around and see everything in our lives that we don’t have. This is the paradigm that most people get stuck in, and I have no judgement because this was me for many years of my life. Gratitude is the cleanser of the soul and can make you feel overwhelmed with love and abundance. You can look around a see everything in your life you’re grateful for. Your eyes you can see out of. Your nose you can smell out of. You could go on forever. It’s important to feel grateful every day and your stress will decrease massively.

16. Become Caffeine Free

Tea, coffee and colas can add to your stress because the caffeine they contain acts as a stimulant. This can make you feel ‘wired.’ Drink in moderation or swap these drinks for herbal or green tea.

17. Get Enough Sleep

Getting enough sleep is very important for us to function the best. Lots of stress comes from not giving yourself time to relax and sleep. Sleep heals all the pain in your body and is your charger. If you don’t charge a phone what happen? It goes flat. That’s the same with you. You should be getting between 7-9 hours a night.

18. Listen To A Guided Hypnosis

Everyone should try listening to a guided hypnosis track. This gives your conscious mind a rest and allows your subconscious mind to start learning. Occasionally switch your mind off for 15 minutes and listen to a confidence hypnosis track. You can find plenty on YouTube for free.

19. Take A Walk

A 20 minute walk can actually cure your stress for a long period of time. If you are feeling stressed and you walk for 20 minutes you will look at what you’re stressing about completely different. This is very powerful way to change your emotional state. Fresh air can wake you up again.

20. Get Organised

Being organised can make you feel like you have control over your life. When we feel like we are in control it does wonders for our self-esteem. Plan ahead and prepare. Preparing the night before for work or any other event, can reduce the risk of a stressful ‘morning rush’.

21. Set Realistic Goals

We tend to set goals up for ourselves that are way too big for the current circumstances we are in. I am all for setting big goals but there must be reachable, achievable goals that you can conquer each week to build your confidence and momentum. Goals are just a target. When you start moving towards that target you become a stronger version of yourself because you’re breaking through the obstacles in your way. Start with little goals for the first 3 months and then slowly expand into your dream goals.

22. Volunteer/Help Someone Out

By helping someone you take the focus off yourself. When we are feeling stressed we tend to be focusing on ourselves and what we’re not getting. There is no better feeling in this world than contributing beyond yourself to someone because you can. By holding the door open for somebody or simply doing something because you know it’s right, this can do wonders for your self-esteem. Choose a cause that appeals to you, or help someone you care about who is also stressed out.

23. Listen To Music

Everyone human loves music because it takes us to a place of freedom in itself. It helps us feel emotion and allows us to let go and sing. Choose music that energizes and inspires you; listen to your favourite tunes. Sing along as loud as you can. Music helps to improve your mood & changes your emotional state FAST.

24. Book A Vacation

It’s always important that you allow yourself to rest for a period of time a couple of times a year. We are always working and putting stress on our physical and mental muscles. When we go on a vacation it allows us to let go and be free. We start feeling happier naturally because we are changing our rituals and patterns around. If you can’t afford a vacation, plan a weekend away or a day trip out. The change of scenery will do you good. It will open up your mind and help you to feel different. If we’re doing the same thing every day we feel stuck and anxious. Go away for a weekend and just become naturally free from anxiety.

25. Keep A Journal

Writing out your thoughts on a piece of paper allows them to come out of your head. We can screw ourselves over by keeping what’s going on in our head. This can be a great therapy you can do and it allows you to measure your progress on how you’re feeling from day to day. You can write down why you believe you’re stressed and can get to the real root cause to why you’re feeling that way. When you know why you’re feeling a certain way it’s so easy to change it. You can look at your progress every month and see how much you are improving.

26. Visualize what you want as soon as you wake up.

Visualization is a powerful process that I believe is the secret to succeeding. I used to really struggle feeling happy because I would focus on what I didn’t have. Visualizing is powerful because your brain can’t tell the difference between something you’re imagining or something you’re experiencing. If you close your eyes and visualize your dream life, your brain will believe it’s real. If you can start living like you already have the ideal partner, money, business, career or friend, your brain will start attracting it. That’s why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. If you feel like you’re already rich, you’ll get more of that. If you feel like you’re poor, you’ll keep getting more of that. It’s all about training your mind every morning. This will change your rituals so your emotions will change.

27. Clean Your House

It’s very important that you start living like your life’s in order. If you come home and your bedroom and house is a mess, you’ll feel stressed. It’ll feel like there’s so much to do. I always set a time to clean one room at a time and after each room you feel excited. You’ll feel better about yourself because everything look’s cleaner. When you have your house cleaner, you’ll feel better about yourself unconsciously.

28. Treat Yourself

You need to start getting into a habit once a week to treat yourself to something that you enjoy. I see so many people feeling stressed about life and giving to everyone but themselves. Write down things that make you happy: riding, shopping, hanging with friends, haircut, massage, day away by yourself etc. If you start doing this on a regular basis, your stress will decrease because you’re looking after yourself.

29. Quit Negative Self Talk

It’s all about catching yourself when you start speaking negatively. We tend to put ourselves down a lot and it disempowers us to make progress. You are a powerful, unique human being. Your life has meaning. Remind yourself of what you have done successfully over your life. Think about all the people that love you in your life.

30. Get A Hug

Hugs are what make us feel loved and cared for. When two human beings hug it releases oxytocin throughout your body and you instantly feel that love for yourself. Oxytocin is what adults get when they have a baby. They feel that unconditional love for their baby. Hugs release that same feeling. So hug away.

31. Aim For Progress, Not Perfection

Being a perfectionist can actually be the most stressful thing you can do. People that want to make things perfect, freak out when they don’t have control of situations. They stress about all the little things and it doesn’t allow them to grow. Just aiming for progress everyday will massively decrease your stress because it’s something you can control. What is perfect? It’ll never actually be perfect. Always aim for progress each day.

32. Wake Up 15 Minutes Earlier

It’s very important to wake up a little earlier, just to give yourself extra time. A lot of people struggle with time and they let it control them. If you are ready to go 15 minutes earlier, there won’t be any stress when it comes to time. I used to always be running late for things and it was because I wouldn’t prioritise my life. I would always be in reaction mode. When you take action to make a plan, you feel more in control.

33. Take Short Breaks Throughout The Day

People that work hard often don’t take a lunch break. It’s very important to take short breaks every couple of hours. A break from work can reset your mind so that you’ll perform better throughout the day. It’s like charging your batteries for a few minutes so you can perform at 100% again.

34. Stop Smoking

Quit smoking if you can. Smoking may seem to relax you but nicotine is, in fact, a stimulant. Quitting may be stressful in the short-term, but the long-term benefits to your health and well-being are enormous. Get professional advice to help you quit once and for all. Smoking is a slow killer and by making a decision to stop, all your insides will start to repair themselves.

35. Do Something Nice For Someone You Don’t Know

Random acts of kindness can actually boost your mood and change someone’s life. Whether it’s opening the door for someone, telling someone they look nice today or simply smiling and asking them how they are. All these things will help to remove you from yourself and believe you can contribute to the world. The secret to living is giving. If you can lift people up with your random acts, you’ll naturally feel good.

36. Learn To Be Patient

In life you need to be patient with your goals. Lots of times I see people becoming stressed because they are focusing on why their vision isn’t working out. You need to understand that mastering any area of your life takes time. It doesn’t happen overnight and when you can realize that, life becomes more fun. We tend to put pressure on ourselves and start feeling anxious because we don’t see results right away. Sometimes you have to wait in line. Don’t let delays stress you out. Be prepared – carry a small book to read or play games on your cell phone. Use waiting time to relax. There’s no point standing in line getting more and more worked up. Some things are beyond your control. Relax and go with the flow.

37. Lift Weights

I believe everyone should be lifting weights three times a week to make their bodies healthier and stronger. Putting resistance on your muscles doesn’t just give you muscles but lifts your testosterone levels up so you have more energy throughout the day. It strengthens your bones and is scientifically proven to reduce stress levels.

38. Take Care Of Your Appearance

Keeping your health and body looking in shape can boost your confidence. Keeping your hair and skin looking clean can make you feel better about yourself. We are all obsessed with our appearance and it can be detrimental to our self-esteem. The world right now is based upon looking good, so I say look your best self and only focus on things that you can control. As you get older you can’t control certain things happening with your body. Put your focus to the things you can control.

39. Simplify Your Life

Keep things simple, you don’t need more than one phone; you don’t need a huge, bulging wardrobe of clothes you never wear. Simplify your life by only keeping items that you truly need or that bring you pleasure. You need the best bandage dress boutique around so simply buy something that is within your means like clothes.

40. Visualize Success

Creative visualization is a technique where you imagine yourself in a positive way in the future. All you have to do is lie down, relax and imagine yourself easily and effectively achieving any upcoming stressful goals. It’s very important for you to do this every day so you can start feeling like you’re already abundant.

41. Get A Life Coach

It’s very important to hire a coach that will be there for you through your journey. People get so caught up making a living & forget about designing the life of their dreams. Having a Life Coach will help you stay focused on your goals & will assist you in overcoming your fears. I have had a Life Coach for the past three years and feel like it’s been a massive asset to my success.

42. Massage Your Scalp

Massaging your scalp can really help reduce your stress levels. Our neck and scalp has tension when we are feeling stressed, so a simple massage for 10 minutes can reenergise you. It helps circulate blood to that area which will help everything relax and flush out any toxins. It spreads the natural oils of the hair, increasing hair lustre and vibrancy. If you feel tension in your neck, shoulders & scalp I highly recommend you massage those areas each day. This can also help you to sleep better.

43. Bake Or Cook

Cooking can be very therapeutic if you give yourself time to do it. Just listening to your favourite music while you cook and really trying to make the food taste good can be a great way of reducing stress. Most people are rushing when they’re cooking and don’t focus on the process of doing. You can’t beat homemade food; it tastes better for one, is generally more nutritious and there is something deeply satisfying about preparing your own food. It makes it more exciting if you are cooking for a friend or family member.

44. Ask For Help

It’s important to ask for help if you’re feeling down or struggling with something. We tend to think we need to do it all ourselves but that can make us more stressed. There’s nothing wrong with asking for help because it can reduce stress massively. I used to do everything myself in my business & would be working so hard on things that I wasn’t good at. It’s always good to hire people that love doing that stuff and focus on the parts you enjoy. The simple question – could you help me with this? Could save you a lot of time & stress.

45. Always Talk People Up

I see so many people these days talking down people behind their back. When you are judgemental about people you are usually being that judgemental about yourself. Haven’t you realized when you talk behind someone’s back they end up finding out? I always talk people up behind their back because I know they will likely hear about it and it’ll all be a positive experience. Whether you believe in Karma or not, good things happen to people who give out positive energy.

46. Change Your Rituals

Rituals make us who we are for the moment. If you eat unhealthy every day and it turns into a habit, that’s a ritual. If you want to change the direction of your life, you must set up your life with happy rituals. We usually think the same thoughts everyday so you must become conscious and say to yourself, ‘what am I really happy about in my life? What am I really grateful for?’ By asking yourself these questions everyday it starts to change your habitual patterns. If you ask these questions enough it becomes a subconscious program. Set your day up with positive rituals and your stress will decrease.

47. Become Your Own Biggest Fan

There were times in my life where I would put myself down constantly. I would be my own worst enemy and would hate what I saw in the mirror. I realized that if I wanted to stop feeling anxious, I needed to fall in love with myself. Falling in love with yourself seems to be hard for people but if you can start complimenting yourself every day, you start to enjoy life more. What if every time you looked in the mirror, you looked at yourself and said, ‘I love being you.’ I do this every morning and I do it with joy. When other people compliment us, we feel great. We need to stop waiting and feel great now by giving it to yourself. Your life will change significantly if you take this seriously and DO IT.

48. Go To An Event

Go to a place where you can enjoy the experience and let go. Whether it’s going to a movie, football game, music concert, live band or a self-help seminar, this will reduce stress. It allows you to stop worrying about yourself and helps you become present. I really enjoy going to all these events I mentioned because it inspires me and helps me have balance in my life.

49. Create A Vision Board

Give yourself things to look forward to and aim for. A board featuring pictures cut out from magazines that represent your goals can inspire you to keep at it if your mood is low. I have one in my room that I look at every morning and it keeps my mind on what I want so I attract it. Cut out your wildest fantasies and put them on the board. We tend to manifest what we want and focus on, so focus on them daily like you have it all right now.

50. Try New Experiences

We always get so caught up in doing the same things every day. Make yourself do things you usually wouldn’t. I have had times in my life where I would feel stressed and I realized it was because I was bored with my life. You need to put yourself out there and try things you usually wouldn’t. Go to the beach, talk to that person you always wanted, go skydiving. It’s all about shocking your nervous system because when that happens, your life wakes up again. Be a peak experience junkie and enjoy every minute of your life.

51. Learn To Forgive

Blame and guilt are toxic, stressful emotions. Banish these emotions, learn to let go of past hurts or regrets. What’s done is done and none of us can change the past. When you hold that extra baggage around with you, you feel like it’s weighing you down. It’s about forgiving yourself or who hurt you and doing it for you. We all hold guilt about the past and what we should have done better. It’s over. Start feeling good because you’re alive and forgive people not for them but for YOU.

52. Learn To Say NO

It’s great to help people but when it becomes an addiction that’s when you lose respect for yourself. When you never say ‘no’ people remember that and you become their doormat. It’s really hard to say no and forget about it because most people are conditioned to have a pleaser mentality. If you are constantly running around trying to help other people, learn when to stop. Sometimes your own needs have to come first. You don’t have to become selfish, just know when to draw the line.

53. Change Your Worst Experience’s Meaning

We have all had bad experiences in our past and we tend to look at it like it’s negative. I realized early on that everything in life is a gift, even the pain. If you change the meaning to the worst experience in your life to a pleasurable experience, this can be very freeing. Close your eyes and visualize that time again. See the person or thing happen in your mind’s eye and ask, what is the gift in this experience? Start finding the positive parts about the experience. I’m glad that experienced happened to me because it has made me stronger for the future. I’m glad I went through that pain because it taught me valuable lessons. Find everything that you perceive as negative & turn it into a positive with your mind.

54. Enjoy The Journey Of Life

People always tell me, ‘I’ll be happy when… I get what I want, when I go overseas, when I find the ideal partner, when I make enough money.’ We tell ourselves things that hold us back from living a happy life. I used to do this all the time and it made me forever stressed because I would always be focusing on what I didn’t have. I realized that if you don’t enjoy the journey to the destination then you’ll never enjoy it. There actually is no destination. The destination is going to happen when you die; that’s the destination. You are always on the journey of life and if you can’t be happy in the process to your goals, you’ll never feel happy.
